Information for Native Americans

More than 5,220, 580 Native Americans reside in the United States, or 1.7% of the total U.S. population.  Approximately 78% of them live outside of reservations and settlements in small towns or rural areas.  There are 574 federally recognized tribes in the USA, about half of which are associated with the Indian reservations or settlements.

In the past forty years, the reservations and settlements have noticeably increased their entrepreneurial efforts in the following businesses: gaming, the production of fuels, the making and sale of jewelry, staging cultural events, and facilitating community gardens.
